No longer in NY and below the Mason Dixon line.
I've been wanting to try this since I got my 500 series rack, so for about 6 weeks.

I have a good friend with a laser cutter, so I cut some blanks from 1/8th inch acrylic stock, and put 4 layers of aluminum tape on the rear side. Countersunk the screw holes slowly. We'll see how they work.

Nice job, they look clean.  Best deal I've found on metal is from diy.re:

I did have a ductwork hvac warehouse stamp me out some from a sheet and it dropped the price to $0.50, but the lines weren't clean and they lacked consistency. In retrospect I should have had them cut oversized and sanded them to spec.

Yep, the price range is from about $5 (DIYRE) to $9 (small quantities from CAPI) but I thought it would be fun to try this out.

I have some DIYRE CP5 preamps and really like them, BTW, for those who might not be familiar.

(and once again I tried to upload a very simple photo taken with my cell phone, and it failed security checks, WTF IS UP WITH THAT??!!)
