Hi
I wanna build one high voltage psu. I would use RC circuit with 4 caps and 3 resistors. Instead bleed resistor to ground I want to use zener diode (like on C24 psu). How much higher voltage I must have before zener.
I want to build 110V, 120V and 230V.
Yours opinions about this circuit?
Thanks in advance
Duka

It's better to use a zener with an emitter follower. Much better regulation. Parrallel the zener with a decent cap, like 100yF+100nF. Let 2-5mA flow through the zener. I like a lot higher voltage before the regulator but 10 volts is enough for 110V, 120V & 230V.
