hey fellas,

is there anything like the Zähl EQ1 in DIY?
Probably feature-wise nothing will come even close, its absolute killer.
But maybe sonically? A stereo, 4-band, punchy but transparent EQ.
Anyone?

I bet nobody except Zähl has seen the schematics of this EQ. So why bother with that. It´s a fully parametric EQ. If you want one then buy it. If you want to DIY then go with what is available and possible. Many of the unusual features can be incorporated into available designs if you´re determined enough.

IMHO the best DIY EQ available is our member Sahib´s EQ1. The original design behind it is the  Amek M2500/3000/3500 EQ. The same extended featureset of the Zähl EQ has been part of the Amek original design in some of it´s revisions. That means it´s at least possible to get you close to your goal.
Another good DIY EQ is the Barry Porter Net-EQ. It has rather narrow Q, though, but it is easy to modify it for +5/+15 gain.

Thanks guys.. I wasn't looking for an Zähl EQ-1 clone.. of course nobody has the sophisticated schcematics for it.
I was looking for an alternative and the suggested TAC EQ ONE seems the one.
That was the tip needed :) I wasn't aware of this EQ.. so thank you!
