Passing by a local charity shop I spotted a GD 30 wah ,
Never heard of it before , was only 10 euros ,so I grabbed it ,
Within five minutes I had an offer of 20 on the table .
Throaty almost 'talk box' type sound off it , no inductors ,just a handfull of IC's and transistors inside , and a led and ldr as control element .

dated 1995 inside , but almost like new ,
Anyone use these before ,or have any other info on them ? I found the site ,but its barebones .

I wound up with a few over the years myself ,  mainly Jim Dunlop units with bad pots , there was a point here the replacement hot potz was 50 euros ,many just went off and got a brand new unit for 85 .  You can easily reconfig a JD wah to make a volume or expression pedal , a balance or crossfade for feeding two amps is also possible .

Ive had a chance to try a few ic based optical wahs , there usable enough but not the same as the  inductor based units . I did have a chance also to compare various inductors , Fasel red was by far the most coloured sound of the lot, and kinda rectifies the signal. adding harmonics.
