Hi all...

I have a question regarding what happens if the maximum voltage between heater and cathode is exceeded?

I just want to get my head around this even if it is a noobie question :)

Best regards

The insulation between the two may break down. This will increase  leakage between heaters and cathode. At a minimum it will induce hum into the cathode, at worst it could lead to a heater cathode short.

Cheers

Thank you Gyraf

I have heard about this before but no one has been able to confirm it.

I guess that avoiding a voltage too close to the limit is highly recommended
