Here’s some samples of our two favorite mics that particular day on a female vocalist:

24-bit, 44.1k

The samples without compression were all different takes in the live room. The samples with compression are the same take in a very diffused iso-room. The sample labeled “Together” are a mix of the two samples with compression, with the BA Samar 49 sample 7dB down and then the overall down a bit as to not overload.

Please forgive the buzz on the BA37 without compression samples. We heard it but didn’t care as we blew through the mics. You can really get a feel for the noise-level of the BA37 with a Sony capsule, which is part of its charm. You can also get a feel for the A/C noise floor of that iso-room.

Anyone looking for details of the mics, just search for Samar Audio Samples in the search, and you’ll find it, along with some other samples.

No one?

I’m thinking of the possibility of buying another Samar capsule to try as a replacement in a modded NT1000.

I also now have another pair in some transformerless tube mics that I still haven’t had a chance to play with due Covid!

The link was actually copied "as it looks", from somewhere else, where it's been "compacted" - note the "..." in the middle.

When making such posts, it's probably better to copy the contents of the text box in edit mode, as opposed to copying the text of the post as visible ::)

I had ordered one capsule, three months later it wasn't even shipped. As i understood they weren't done with experimenting with materials. Both mic, and capsule were available for a while at that point, this was in July of 2019.

Gave up, and got the refund eventually. There were quite a few people ordering this capsule, i can't remember many posted the results.

That was weird. Link fixed.

Yes, when Mark announced on here, production still needed to happen. I was patient. I always am, to a fault. Don’t know where things stand now, but knowing how busy Mark is, I recommend going in expecting things to be greatly-delayed.

I actually have three of his capsules. Put the others in a pair of my transformerless tube mics, but haven’t had a chance hear them in there yet.

Here’s a couple final mixes from her project. I didn’t mix, only tracked:
