Tannoy Crossover; Monitor Gold type LSU/HF/III.LZ/8
« on: January 15, 2020, 12:05:30 PM »
Just a few basic q's re a crossover re-build fo type type LSU/HF/III.LZ/8;

I've opened them up and the 3.3uF capacitor & 0.5mH inductor on the HF output are in the opposite positions to those indicated on the schematic below - is this likely to be a mistake?

Or does it not matter for these components?
I've seen 2 versions of schematics for the 12/15" models that show both arrangements.

Also, I need an 8uF capacitor for the HF input (nearest is 8.2); would a 3.3uF & 4.7uF in parallel suffice?

Finally, can anyone recommend a good type of capacitor to use? - I don't want to let these speakers down but I don't want to break the bank either.
I've seen Jantzen Superior-Z recommended, but that will come to over £300...

Thanks

They are connected in series so it does not matter.

Yes.

Mundorf. Or any good MKP for 100V or higher.
