A friend of mine is considering to buy a Verona. I found its schematic, but there is a part I can't clearly understand, I marked it. What is this circuit around the pad switch for?  I have some thoughts but I've never seen anything like this in other consoles before.

Yep, I thought the same.

Thank you for the recommendation. My friend bought it yesterday so I'll have a chance to put a scope in it someday, then there will be more to discuss in Drawing Board :)
