You can't sue mother nature, while the conspiracy theories surrounding the origins of this are rampant.

It seems the first order of business is to get a handle on the still spreading illness. Popular wisdom is that it will die out naturally in China with warm summer weather, but like past influenzas it can winter in colder regions of the world and return next season. It seems pretty important to nip this in the bud so it does not get established world wide.

The common flu kills more people worldwide, so far, but this reveals how interrelated world economies are when the Chinese factories get shut down.

We will learn new lessons from this but let's keep the lawyers in their respective corners for now. It does reveal obvious flaws in the Chinese system, but that should not be a surprise to anybody paying a modicum of attention.

I not sure a blame game will get us anywhere at this point . The other reality is damage to all the economies on the planet will cost everyone . On a more local level here  Chinese restaurants are suffering a serious fall off in business . Italy has had the first two deaths in Europe , the second of which they can't trace back to anyone or attribute to any particular source .  The other thing is , as this thing passes from one human to another it can mutate  and become more or less virulent ,theres just no knowing where it all ends .

Not understanding the lax measures on the cruise ships. Feels...intentionally botched. I know that's insane to think, but both the norwegian and the other one given port by cambodia? dropped quarantines...people scattered, taking flight(s), only for them to retest the stragglers and find a few positives.

Just as the usual infamous 2  cents ,

it is possible that :
we are too many ?
and to much close ?

should we plant trees faster and wherever possible ?
to improve air quality & restore the natural balance ,

and :
Isn't an international decalogue of general health rules urgently needed,
including those on substances not to eat
because they are potential triggers of diseases ?

Similar to that in force from several years in Australia

or we have only to die for make rich "someone" ?

Hehe  ;D

Seriously, this thing has upset the virologists a bit. Seems to carry at least 3 mutated regions. In nature, two mutated regions are extremely rare. Usually, only one DNA region mutates. Some think that's an indication of being man-made.

But another discovery was even more unsettling. One of the strains of a tropical fever virus has DNA that contains over 90% never seen before strains. Alien?

This should rearrange our classification of virii, at least. It also shows how little we know about them. Of course, spyrochetes (Lyme) and the like are even worse. We don't even have a clue how many of those could be around. Too big for electron microscopes, too small for opticals. Talk about hiding in the open...
Why is it people love to believe and hate to know?

Solid ,  liquid  and gas trash (more or less polluting) that humans put around the planet apart ,

there are also the biological bacteria evolution ,
and one of the verified consequences is the  antibiotic resistance... ,

and their Dna mutation/reinforcement is caused also  by human races "mix"…

never heard about the highly lethal pathology called  Endocarditis ?
(a.k.a. the  air conditioning killer ,  due to poor cleaning of the systems )

is the actual city "model" (cluster of humans in "small" spaces)  right or wrong  ?

it is not true that the world scientific community from several years  warns that that city model
exposes strongly the people to the viral epidemics ?

and that viral epidemics  are potentially a menace much worse than war ?

why the airline companies want to achieve to move up to 50 million people any day around the world ?

how they can guarantee the health security ?
( apart the huge amount of pollutants scattered in the atmosphere from the exhaust of the planes )
(…and plane crashes ?  )

why not develop intercontinental transport on magnetic levitation trains ?
as they are just doing with the "silk way" for the goods from China to Europe and  vice versa ,
from north Scotland to Bering strait , than down through Canada ,USA , Mexico , South America up to Argentina's Land of Fire,
and down to Cape Town through French , Italy , Ex Yugoslavia , Greece , Egypth , etc…. ,
or also new tunnel on Gibraltar strait  ?
( because as the cars are slowly changing into electric the amount of fuel left over have to be burnt by the planes ? )
( to continue financing the usual "few" ? …. , and their cathedrals in the desert ? … )

but this planet have to be saved or destroyed ?

it's potentially much easier a viral epidemic diffusion  in the actual cities model as we are seeing ,
or in a different model with much more space with healthy vegetation between people ?

peace
and cheers

Ahh I see.  So with covad19, aliens found populations with genetic dispositions least likely to welcome open contact and so are preparing them with a lil'  *snip*snip*.

Edit: Other gripe moved to SQ's post.

No.

Just "unknown".

A scientist knows how little we know, especially about virii. Lots of people feel safer thinking science has the answer. In this case, science is learning.
Why is it people love to believe and hate to know?

Hi Ian , thanks for post ,

i agree also with you ,

the question is :

Do economically damaged nations and victims' families ,  have to join together to claim compensation ?

apart from the fact that if :

is this " model/concept " of cities (metropolis / megalopolis ) wrong  ?
(clusters of people in relatively limited spaces)
for people physical and mental health ,

...it's not that it only favor building speculation ,
and the sales business of multinationals ?

I just read an article about a man here who was forced into quarantine. They took him to hospital and did tests. Found out he was OK just influenza.

Hospital sent him a bill for $3K which his insurance will only pay half.

So...he has to pay for forced quarantination?

It depend from the level of civilization ( respect for the human being, )
of the nation where he lives ,

it is perhaps not true that the level of civilization is based primarily on respect and above all the care of people ?
