Says urei vs teletronix. Also the meter? Probably custom job with fonts that look right

Yes, I remember seeing/ using LA2A's with the Urei label.  I don't remember that meter, though. Doesn't mean it wasn't on the units I used, though, I just don't recall.
I think Urei made a run of 100 units in the late 70's/ early 80's.  May have been more than 100.  So many braincells lost between now and then..

I'd bet on that being a custom radio network meter, or similar.  There was a time radio stations used these.

Yes.    As Jeff and Doug already said, the meter isn't stock but,  from the UA website:

 "In 1985, 235 units were re-issued by UREI while under Harmon/JBL

This brought the unit once again back to the aluminum silverface look, but this time with the UREI name on the front"

The standard way to reduce much of the noise and distortion in audio gear in 1955 was to have a couple of beers.
 Anything else was too fiddlesome and too expensive.
