Hi all,

Just thought I'd share some pics of the evolution of the early Neve module metalwork practices.
Here is an early pre/EQ module - the 1060.

Showing panel spacers instead of bridge lances

Showing panel spacers in position

Panel spacers removed

Front panel.... SOLID BRASS !!!

Old type lids showing peined rails

Note the pressed rivets for holding side panel on

Old type front panel mounts, before using tapped / hank bush bridge lances

Lid / sides detail

Then soon later, the metalworking shop must have had an epiphany...
and a product that was far cheaper to produce on a large scale.

single piece, with front and top bridge lances. A classic design which does exactly what it needs to do.

........ SOLID BRASS . WOW  ;)

When I was at Neve in the early 70s, my then Boss Tony Cornwell, who I think was employee number 3, told me that in the very early days the metalwork was crafted by Rupert's Spanish gardener.

Cheers

Ian
