Well time came i need to update from pt 7.4 to something more current. So i can use some of the newest plug ins.
I want to upgrade to pt 12 not sure though..maybe switch to digital performer and go with a motu interface.
Right now my setup is a 002r with a Intel celeron 4. Im thinking i5 9700 with a msi motherboard with hdmi output...
Not sure though..what you guys suggests?
Thanks

Member Whoops has a thread about troubleshooting the latest motherboards and thunderbolt capability that is worth reading. MOTU's work with PT12 perfectly. They work with any DAW.  You don't need to use thunderbolt as they also have usb-3 which is more than capable of handling whatever you are going to throw at it. Moving from an 002 I am assuming you aren't doing big projects, but even if you do they are expandable and the avb network is impeccable. I have 2 MOTU systems. One for the studio that uses the motu pci-424 card, with 2 x HD192's and a 2408 mklll; that is just a bridge for the apogee ad16x.
For location recording I have the latest gen MOTU ultralite
Eventually I'll pick up the  16A  and 16D.
