Anybody have any recommendations (like under 80 bucks or something) for a phono preamp that I can stick in a 1RU box with some switches?

My wife is tired of the current bust a** setup in the living room. So, I'm digging out my adcom 535 amp, and wiring a passive switcher box up. But I need a small, cheap phono amp. . .

The setup is not expensive or hi fi. Just some Fisher speakers, the amp I mentioned and some cheapish peripherals.

??? I don't know much about turntable phono amps, but if I can find a relatively cheap solution, I think we'd all be stoked.

But I wonder if there are any with reasonable quality.

Modern op amps have gotten so much better in the decades since I stopped designing high performance phono preamps that there are decent one op amps solutions.

There are probably numerous schematics available from a web search specifying the RIAA playback EQ (pole at 3180 uSec, zero at 318 uSec, and another pole at 75uSec....) Yes I killed too many brain cells designing phono preamps over the decades. Now its almost too easy.

NAD receivers and preamps  had excellent phono pre’s. Sometimes you can get a good older NAD for less than $50.

I use an NAD 1240 at home.
