Hi all.
Happy Friday.
I hope everyone is fairing well.

I'm hoping to revive an old thread with this build I'm working on.
As many of you know, the DRIP forum is gone and with that the map to how and why.
I've got more questions than I'll probably get answers.

I started another post a couple of days ago with a question about the 600 ohm T-pad.
Plenty of views. No answers.
It seems since the popular one used by most is manufactured in Mexico they are unavailable at the moment.

While I wait for the last few components I'm going to prep the internal wiring.
I have to drill holes in the back panel of the case to mount the Hammond 369AX transformer.

First question...
I have pieces of both 1/4" hard rubber matting and more flexible Sorbothane padding.
I'm going to cut pieces to use for grommets and vibration isolation.
Do I have to be concerned about heat from the power transformer?

Thanks all.
Enjoy your weekend.

AQ.

That looks cool!

What's the brown cylinder?

Do I have to be concerned about heat from the power transformer?
Power transformer might get slightly warm, but shouldn't get hot, so no worries there.

That's C5.
In Greg Lomayesva's build notes, this is the most important capacitor is the audio circuit.
A 1uF 630V Coherent Audio capacitor.

Thanks for the answer about the heat from the transformer.

No offence but looks like audio foolery to me!
How much did it cost??

Hi. None taken.

There's a lot of audio tomfoolery is this world isn't there.
Is this better than that?
Tube or SS?
Should I spend $250 a foot on this esoteric cryogenic power cable?

I've got 3 different types of 100uF capacitors here for C2 & C6. I'm still not sure which one to use.

I've got all the questions. I hope to get some answers from the knowledge base in this forum.

I don't remember. I purchased it a couple of years ago.
Probably a lot. Certainly more than a couple of dollars.

As Chandler had just put out their version of this EMI mic preamp, I based the costs of this build around that.

All true.
It’s your baby and you can darn well build it as you please! Thats the beauty of this diy lark.
Enjoy!
