RIP.  Wow. 

I remember years ago going to Brent's house in Sherman Oaks, Ca. to buy a pair of Neve 1073s.
At the time he was racking real Neve 1073s with a power supply.
We went in the back where he had a shop with all the gear. There was milk  crate full of API 312s .
We discussed what would happen when there weren't any more originals to rack. He said he would start making them himself.
I paid him $3,000 for the pair of Neve 1073s w P.S. remembering what had I done spending that much money on preamps.
