Hey guys, I recently bought an ami u47 that was looked over by an experienced tech, who said it has some poor solder joints and grounding issues, but didn’t specify beyond this.
I couldn’t afford his $500 quote, but I recently acquired the schematic from Dennis at ami and am seeing if there is anyone locally who would be willing to take a look at it?
The mic seemed to work fine except for a background hiss, the tech did say the tube was much too noisy, so that will be replaced, but I don’t know enough about mics to tackle the “grounding issues”
