Anyone heard of this seller? "Capsules_supreme" https://www.ebay.com/itm/Neumann-Microphone-K67-Capsule-Professional-Condenser-u87Ai-u87-Ai-K-67/333705477469?hash=item4db2657d5d:g:K78AAOSwjJpfS66P

Looking through their history it looks like they've sold a number of very nice looking "used" capsules including K47 and K67. Hmmmmm.  Do they look like the real thing? Seller is based out of Nashville .  . . I could see studios unhappy perhaps and striving some extra %5 for an (earlier?) Neumann capsule for their mic based on some forum rumours, but why would you replace the capsule in a U87 if it wasn't damaged? It's the best part of the mic. hmmmmm

Reminds me of a Simpsons episode in which Troy McClure brags about being the lawyer who got Paul McCartney out of Wings. To which Homer responds. "You idiot. He was the best one." (I tend to agree with Homer  . . )

Anyway, just wondering. . .

I've seen these before and someone from the forums did buy one.

These both look legit and questionable. They do look used and this one looks like it's in good condition. The leads are what look suspicious. The seller may be changing the leads or that may be what Neumann used at the time. I don't know enough about K67s through the years to know what the leads looked like.

I wonder if the seller is restoring AIs to vintage U87s.

Genuine K67 usually has glue on tensioning ring, around screws. Red dot on centre tensioning screw is not typical for Neumann.

I purchased a K49 single-sided from Neumann from him to put in my K47fet clone a few years back, and it appears legit. It sounds indistinguishable from a genuine reissue 47fet, off-axis and on-axis.

Here is a link with the files. You need to match gains. The first comparison is from 2017, and the other one from 2019 in different studios. No change in the DIY mic, just a change of 47fet reissues and recording chains.

I asked him directly what was up with these and he said "The yellow wires are still attached to the PCB. This k67 has not been reskinned and there is no way to modify a capsule. Good questions."

So, I do still wonder what is going on with the original mics...does he have another account selling U87's with chinese capsules, haha?
