I should probably know the answer to this, but I don't, so I'm asking it :)

I have a Thiersch Blueline M7 capsule that I am putting in a microphone I'm building. Aside from the wires connected to the front and rear diaphragms, there is a third wire that comes out off of the mount (the wire on the left in the attached picture). I'm assuming this is intended for grounding the capsule mount. My question is: is there an ideal terminus for the end of this wire? And why do some capsule mounts omit this wire?
