Telefunken M16 and Apex 460

First off, I'd just like to say that I've stumbled onto this site maybe a month ago and in that short time I've learned alot about audio electronics and design. I want to thank everyone for sharing their knowledge.

I found this link in the REP forum and thought some you would find this interesting:http://www.studioreviews.com/m16-460.htm.

It's a comparison of the Telefunken M16 ($1300) and a Apex 460 ($229). It looks like it's the same mic. I think the Nady 1150 is the same, too, but even less than the Apex.

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to mic design so it's very possible I'm missing the major differences between these mics are. Better caps maybe? Is it just the Telefunken name that jacks the price up? Or QC?

Any thoughts?
