rump mutants are mildly pissed off,

Biden supporters are crying tears of joy>

"Best day ever! No more porn-stars, no more corruption, no more military bashing, no more tax evasion!"

"This is a beautiful moment in American history. I can't stop crying. After four years of a President that broke me (and others) down mentally, over and over again, this makes me proud to be an American again."

"I am feeling such incredible relief and renewed hope. The toxicity of the Trump presidency has been surreal, like watching a horror movie unfold, thinking it can't get any worse until it does. Now, we can come out of the dark scary basement and into the light to celebrate this historic moment. "

"THE MOST AWESOME NEWS THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"I am ecstatic and relieved. I hope for more unity as a nation and a very concerted push for further racial equity as well as more focused pandemic response."

"I feel relieved, like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I feel grateful to know that the majority of this country feels as though character matters. I feel proud that our democracy came through and we let every voice have a chance in this election. I am not feeling afraid of Donald Trump and what he has done or will do to negatively impact our country like I have felt for a long time. I am hopeful his cabinet, campaign members, voters, and supporters will pay attention to facts. And lessen the amount of power Trump feels from people believing his blatant lies. And I'm feeling sorry that my state allows Mitch McConnell to continue his overdue time in the US Senate."

"I just learned 10 minutes ago that the nightmare of Trump is finally and truly over! Hallelujah!! The tremendous hope in my heart for this outcome and a positive new start for our country has turned to joy at the news! Unity, equality, peace, and environmental protection are on their way back to the US."

"Ecstatic!!!!! A voice of reason, experience and true leadership will replace a narcistic, malignant, racist, misogynist, impetuous, undisciplined, corrupt and absolute immoral person who has tarnished our reputation in the world. Praise the Lord!!!! So glad to be rid of him and his corrupt family who only care about enriching themselves."

"I'm a Pennsylvania native. I am sitting here in my home, weeping with relief and happiness. At last, something good in 2020."

"Been a Republican woman voter all my adult life, college educated and nearing retirement age, I'm proud to voice that I voted for Biden/Harris, and with their win I can breathe again. Trump's lies and the fact the Republican establishment didn't, or wouldn't, reign him in from his own narcissistic bullying ways, has cost the party my commitment. As of today I will be officially changing my party affiliation. I waited to make this change as a celebratory gesture for a Biden/Harris win. And now I am a proud Democrat and American!!! Congratulations President Biden and Vice President Harris :)"

Me? I am floating on air. When they showed rump was winning again i contemplated suicide or moving to a different country. Now i am floating on air with a new enthusiasm for life. 2020 was the first time in my life that i voted on the president. i got my ballot around oct 10 it was in the drop box the morning of oct 11. king hater is gone. i do feel sorry for the people who channeled their antisocial tendencies and disdain for life through the president. just about every trump supporter i talked to was as dumb as a log. anti rumpsters tended to be some of the smartest people i have ever met. look at the states trump won. then look at the states Biden won. that will tell you all you need to know.

In further silly news, Georgia's 2 Senators have called for the resignation of Georgia's (Republican) Secretary of State because--well, really, it's mostly because they're both so far up Donald Trump's butt they can see out his mouth.
Between the new voting machines (goodbye, Diebold!) and the new SOS, I think Georgia had about the fairest election it's had in 20 years.  I think SOS Raffensperger has done a pretty solid job in a very challenging election--he seems competent, and appears to have a great deal more integrity than the last two folks who held the office.

Heros or fiends, "smart people" don't continually assign their moods by the sanctity or wickedness of others, nor fetishize goodness or evil so to measure themselves against groups. This is weakness in my estimation, be it in mind, purpose, or character.

Edit: Of course this does not apply in all circumstances. Sometimes we have to judge others to make decisions. However it appears most of America has made a rudder out of judgment, leading us away from the hidden misgivings of the self. It feels quite dangerous.

Pardon the soapboxing, wasn't intentional.

+1

Antagonism in a debate is good and constructive.

Raising one's self-esteem through negative projection onto others is poor and destructive.

Compensating one's frustrations and lack of self-worth through loathing is problematic and ultimately self-destructive.

I do not like malicious joy at all, but it is okay as long as it is only a manifestation of relief and does not cause real harm  ;D

So:  who left the group ?

Yes, maybe this ridiculous and stupid "Brewery" section gets eliminated from this forum altogether.

That would be a big Win

So to recap, Trump didn't build the wall (at least he didn't finish it) and Mexico didn't pay for it...

Now I don't have to listen to John constantly refer to him as President Trump. A title I don't feel he ever deserved.

Now I don't have to listen to John constantly refer to him as President Trump. A title I don't feel he ever deserved.
I was criticized by forum members here as being disrespectful for not calling the former president "President Obama" so I started using the full correct title when questioning his policies.

I was even scolded for calling his namesake healthcare program "Obamacare" (even though Democrats routinely called it that), being instructed that proper nomenclature for it is ACA.  I was willing to go the extra mile to be civil even though I severely disagreed with the policy.

The the lack of civility and disrespect you and others have shown over the last 4 years toward the current POTUS is part of a larger strategy to diminish and belittle his policies, actions, and supporters. The lack of respect shown me here reflects more poorly on those behaving badly than me.

I joke that President Trump has been teaching civics to low information voters, and I expect one final lesson coming about vote count integrity (voter fraud).

I do not expect his several lawsuits to change the outcome, but hopefully we will be better able to trust the important senate seat run offs in Georgia scheduled for early Jan, and all future votes. The drama surrounding the Bush/Gore 2000 vote in Florida, led Florida to reform their vote systems and procedures, I am optimistic that other states will likewise improve their vote integrity. We all need to trust vote integrity, this is not an "ends justify means" exercise.

A classic quote attributed to Joseph Stalin "It's not the people who vote that count. It's the people who count the votes." (reportedly he didn't have to run for public elections but his comment likely referred to votes within the Communist Central Committee).

Relax this too will pass... I can certainly use a break.  8)

Associating “Civics” to a guy that is easy to do a video of 10 straight hours of his insults is remarkably humorous

I do honestly think that nobody has done more to belittle the office of the president than the current inhabitant of the White House. It's so blatantly obvious that there isn't even any need to show examples, we have all seen it day in and day out.

And policies? Like those: Build a wall and have Mexicon pay for it? Abolish health care for the most vulnerable? Massively increase the deficit (during an economic boom, none the less) by having the rich and corporations pay even lower taxes? Write love letters to dictators?

It's been a 5 year long absolute freak show now, and I sincerely hope the US (and by extension the world) can go back through the looking glass into a boring, rational, productive world.
