I just saw this on XRayTonyB's youtube channel and thought it was cool. If and when you want to replace a multi-section can capacitor, but you don't want to spend the money with Hayseed Hamfest or whoever, get some of these. Pretty cool idea.

That is a neat idea , specially made multisection caps tend to be pricey, of unknown quality and often not the exact values required in a particular application.

Cool, now he needs them covering all the different sizes.

I frequently do this with those little Radio shack perf board squares, they fit nicely with only one hole to drill in the perf:

These are great for IC daughter board add-ons in existing circuits:

Another guy I follow on Youtube, D-Lab Electronics, makes his own "can caps" by assembling caps onto an Octal tube socket.

Yeah, and there are also the octal socket version of plug-in caps on a lot of old pro gear already, so an obvious choice if there's space to do it.

Then there's stuff like I encountered here and elsewhere:

Hi! I'm the founder of adapt-a-cap.com and the designer of the adapt-a-cap. I'll try to keep this only informational. We have a few new versions coming but they're not posted to the website yet.

I'm using the adapt-a-cap project to help fund a larger project. I purchased the assets of a glass vacuum tube factory in Oceanside CA in 2018 and have been working on restoring the machines, learning glass and metalworking skills, and creating CAD drawings and models for various tube types we plan to build.
