Hi there,

i i am trying to dial in my MS76 and i am happy with everything but the release time.

The pink is the UAD 1176 RevA for comparison..
That one has a nice fast recovery...even on the long setting
The MS76 is the grey overlay and it looks to me like the attack and ratio is spot on but the release time is very slow, and that is on the fastests settings already.
So, if anyone knows the new PCB, the one where one has to do the drilling, is there something i can adjust or is there a chance i put in the wrong value on both sides.
Here is a link to the schematic :

4M7 sounds like a lot for a pot, but maybe R167 is to blame ... who knows.

That could be very sensitive to the level of signal going into it. It looks like you're really hitting it hard toward the end of your plot there. That's just not a realistic scenario. Who knows what software will do in that case. Generate a wav file that has bursts of 1KHz tones spaced 1s apart. Then play that into your circuit but adjust the level until you just start to get some compression (like 2-3dB). Then evaluate your attack / release times. Then adjust the signal so that you  get 10dB of compression and evaluate again. Maybe there is no problem. If there is, check resistances with your meter between J7-1 and ground. It should be 270K when release is at it's slowest setting and only 1K or less at the fastest setting. Maybe you have the pot wires reversed? If it's not 1K-ish in the lowest setting, you have a wiring issue.

Also your schematic is far to small to be useful.

..you are aware that these knobs are made to go the wrong way, i.e. faster clockwize..?

Hi Jakob,

Ah, right now they are fastest to the left also fully CCW and slower to the right at CW.
Could it be that i wired them the wrong way then ?
So there is a chance that I either flipped the daughter PCB or the header ...
I should check that....
