Not sure how many have heard of him, but I've been really enjoying Jon Bryant's stuff lately. A unique voice reminiscent of Christopher Cross, with really nice melodies. His record 'Cult Classic' is a good listen.

I love really dry stuff too, if the music is good.

The Reverb didn't stand out too much for me tho...so I was kind of surprised when you mentioned it.

I place so much importance on the lyrics and the vocal melody, that if it's beautiful (which is subjective)...then that's what really grabs me. Especially if the voice is unique. If a reverb takes away from it, or distracts my attention in a bad way then something is wrong. But for me it's about what's being said, and how the music is configured to compliment that.

Sounds fine to me for this kind of music. The reverb gets turned down a little (actually it sounds more like they changed the predelay on it) after the first chorus. They probably just didn't want too much open space in the really sparse first verse. The backing vocal is really wet.

The way you said this I was expecting some Arcade Fire levels of verb ... or Dick Dale ...

If anyone can benefit from this music, it makes me happy.  :)
