I still have some of these channels in my desks but i tried to make an external peace of gear of one channel. Thats the same channel which is used in the soundcraft 2400 desks which had been produced more than 10 years... Yesterday at the band-practice i plugged the bass drum mic into the channel and everyone was amazed about the sound  Normally I use the bäh-ringer MX2642 or mackie stuff for the rehearsal room... But with the soundcraft strip the sun shines! :green: Thanks ssltech, for the PSU design :thumb: The two-eurocard-design from the calrec eq was a good inspriration, Jakob

Many Thanks!

Frank

You inspire me to finish a soundcraft Eq project I started sometime back.

Your unit looks VERY NICE and I know it sounds great as well.

Any of you guys that have ever spent some time behind a 800b, 1600 or 2400 in the old daze know how nice the Pres and Eqs are. They are not NEVEs, APIs or CALRECs but for the money they sound WONDERFUL on everything.

Svart..Cyms sound very clean, open and have a very natural sheen to
them. Give 'em a try.

This looks like a Great project!! BEAUTIFUL....Congrats Frank

I think all parts should be easy to purchase. The switches and the dual neg log 100k pots are the same which were used in the calrec. I changed the transistors to common european substitutes. Maybe some guys bought these parts anyway so and don't know what to do with that...
I myself had all parts lying around at home.. common stuff...

I´ve been on tour for only one week and when I come back I find tons of new projects here
You guys are crazy
:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

@Frank: Ich werde in den nächsten paar Wochen die RCAs angehen. Es sind mittlerweile drei Stück

Beautiful Frank !! (as always)
Do you have a schematic of the channel ??
Thanks !!!!

Thanks giobinein

schematic is here:
http://www.nrgrecording.de/soundcraft2400_schematic1.jpg

it was scanned from a copy which was probably copied from a copy and so on.. so i hope the schematic is readable. For an overview it should be ok, be careful with the values... if you see 68k it is 68k, but if you see 6 8k it means 6,8k... (more space between the numbers)

Frank.

Excellent work! :thumb:
Probably in parts list the small mistake is admitted :?:
Transistor TR11 not BC550, and BC560C?
Best regards.

About PSU
You have written a question, that a feed from SSl compressor will approach, but it gives out 15 volt. On your scheme of 17 volt. It is necessary to replace 7815 on 7817 (if such happen)?
And how on the account of a phantom feed in 48 volt?

In advance thanks for the answer.

P.S. Which transistors BC 550? bc550c or bc550b?
