A while back I was in a studio and they had one of their compexes modified so the stereo input and output pots were out of the circuit so just the individual channel level controls set up the limiter, you know, like a normal limiter would do... I was thinking about this today and figured Id bring it up here. I was looking at the schem that was posted here a while back and it shows a 10K input pot but quickly looking in one of mine, that input is a dual deck 47K pot, I didnt bother to trace it out just yet.
Anyone have any ideas on how simple or convoluted this would be? Ive been mixing with those compexes for a few years now and I *still* dont understand what ADR was trying to do by putting those two pots there, the gain structure in that box is just really odd.
