It's a Phase 88, but yes, 8 channels in and out.
Ah, yes, oops. Mine has the older name & box.

Ordering samples privately somehow never works, and I don't want to do it via my employer.
I don't remember how I did it (TI & AD), but it went fine. Maybe I used the 'stichting' (foundation) our band has.

It uses '4580 opamps I thought I read.

Hmm, since the DI800 can also run on phantom power (why does it really need that ?), I don't think they'll
have used the 4580.
As far as I've seen, it's actually mentioned being used for the DI4000, not for the DI800.

I had a look in one of those smaller Beh-DI's and that one was using TL062, not the best chip around but indeed consuming only little power, as suited for phantom. But not the most preferrable thing to be following your nice 24bit soundcard I figure... :?
I'm not sure though that the DI800 uses the TL062 as well, but it seems likely it should use some low-power opamp because of it's pahntom-powering-possibility.

me:
Anyone observed or had problems in practice with rising THD @ low levels ?
Note my concern is only based on an article I read, giving quite bad THD-performance-graphs for lower levels (I should scan & post).
The datasheet of the '2142 gives only performance figures @ 10Vrms, but it looks like THD-performance is quite a lot worse for those lower signal levels - as of course often observed for 'output stages'.

Hi,

I've now uploaded some scans I would post of the SSM2141/2142-article that shows THD-graphs for smaller signals.

FWIW, since the THD-rise is not that much, but OK.

http://home.hetnet.nl/~chickennerdpig/FILES/SSM/SSM_02.zip
http://home.hetnet.nl/~chickennerdpig/FILES/SSM/SSM_03.zip

Scans are large in an attempt to keep all details.
Scans are .tif-files & then zipped (about 2.3MB each).
Sorry, I can't make a single pdf on this machine,
so they're three separate files. And since my provider
limits uploads to 3MB-max for each thing,
the three files are not even in 1 single zip-file

If interested please get them now, because of their size I need to take them down somewhere next week again.

Regards,

Peter
