Hey,

Anyone have any experience with these systems? I've picked up a complete setup for v cheap (£25!) - 3x 8chan vca/relay cards, the 2u computer unit and the 2u PSU. I'm wondering if it's worth using this system over those PGA chips from TI for automation of the mixer I'm (still) planning to build...

Any comments welcome 'cos I'm stuck on this one...

If it works, maybe use it. I can't conceive of building an automation system fro scratch that works better than even the weakest manufacturer's offereing... apart from NECAM... although even that was useful on cold days, since you could warm your hands on whichever fader was on fire at that particular moment... :shock:

Hey Keef,

With MIOS (www.ucapps.de) and SPI it's not too tuff - control of the PGA chips has already been implemented by another MIOS user. MAX/MSP could also be used to act as the automation system via the serial port...again, another midibox user has this setup (complete with touchscreen) for a lighting system which is similar in regards to control...

The pondering goes on...
