What are good bc184c transistor replacements that can be had easily in europe?

What about MPSA18s, bc550c, or bc549c, will that work? And if so, which is to prefer?

This is for a neve ba283av circuit btw.

Have a look here:
http://www.jlmaudio.com/neve_BA283.htm

for the preamp:
T1 = BC109 or BC184C picked for gain higher than 600 to minimise input noise
(BC109 = BC549C)
T2 = BC107 or BC184C (BC107 = BC547)
T3 = BC107 or BC184C (BC107 = BC547)

output:
T1 = BC109 or BC184C picked for gain higher than 600 to minimise input noise
(BC109 = BC549C)
T2 = BC107 or BC184C (BC107 = BC547)
T3 = 2N3055

So BC549C etc (& selected for beta where indicated) seems OK. And while at it, why not make that a BC550C then (slightly lower noise according to the datasheet).

Haven't used these myself yet though, but IIRIC Fabio uses BC549C etc with good results.

Bye,

Peter
For most of the BC184C from Farnell HFE is 575 - 675
With Newark, it was around the same and up to 700. The BC184C I got from Mouser, however, were all under 600 except for a couple. I don't think this circuit is too picky and neither was N*eve if you look at all the different stuff they put in those cards. Doesn't Dan Kennedy use BC550 or something even more generic in his ME? I think the ones listed sofar should all work.
