I'm a newbie, but have always dabbled in audio and electronics.
I have an old M512 mixer that I want to use for rehearsals, the odd gig and possibly another pre option for my DAW.
I am looking for a schematic so that I can use it as a bit of a learning test bed.
Firts on my list is to establish why it has such a wimpy bottom end compared to my other mixer, an old Roland line mixer. The difference is remarkable. The Yammy has decent separation, and I was expecting a rolloff at the top end, not a lack of grunt in the lower frequencies. I have pumped the same signal through the channel ins, the sub ins and the effects returns, all with the same result, so I suspect the output stage may be playing a part. Or maybe, the design is just way too compromised.
Does anyone have any suggestions to help me on my way?
I know it isn't high end gear, but it is all my budget allows at present.
