Hi,

I have a couple of these mic input transformers on the way, but it will take 4 to 6 weeks for them to arrive. In the mean time I thought I would ask some questions about it hoping that other forum members played with them already

Has anyone here has used the NTM4 mic input transformer from Neutrik?
What are your impressions of it?
What sort of load and zobel network is recommended for it?

Thank You,
Tamas

tk,

I have built 4 pre's using these and I like them. I load the secondary between 15-18k. This gives around 2k reflected @ the primary. (as measured on my buddy's Neutrik A2)

As for the zobel, I didn't do anything to figure out what the proper capacitance/resitance should be. I just slapped a 150pf-15k across the secondary. On my scope it has a very slight overshoot and next to no ring.

I have been devolping a dual ic based pre using the NTM4 for input and NTL1 for output for commercial production, so yes, I like it very much.

cheers,

James
