in anycase... I contacted their U.S. distributor... to get a quote...

and he quotes me $2995 USD for the above (which seems absurd... even with shipping and tax's)

so I also enquired about this UV box

the AZ210 which is listed at $590 pounds and he quotes me $2495 USD

am I out of my mind or is he screwing up the currency conversion?

£910 is... $1600ish...

but (and here's the but)... that £910 is before sales tax. In the UK we pay an extra 17.5% sales tax... an extra £160ish...

so, total cost is: £1070 give or take... which equates to: $1900 dollars... plus postage and insurance.

So --- he is officially yanking your chain.

I take it this unit is made in the UK and the US distributor is adding the import tax into the USA plus handling and then his mark-up - which seems a bit high to me. I wonder if he is importing thse items as and when ordered by customers in which case he will have import charges per item he imports. What is his delivery time i.e. 28 days? Several weeks?

It's a bit expeisive in the UK for what it is..
UV tubes and a timer...

Oh.. and his mark up is outrageous...

If you are located in the us, and buy from an european country, you don't pay VAT..

I havent contacted megauk but do you think they would be ok with me ordering direct from them?

the pricing just seems way over the top.. heck I'd rather toss someone a $100 for their trouble over in the UK to get this stuff for me

oh the UV box is dbl sided and has a vacumm which is nice

but yea its a bit pricey for a damn light
