Freed Transformer was located a few blocks from my childhood home. They made a lot of transformers (and some test equipment) in their heyday, but there's very little information about them on the web.

If I ever come into a nice stash of Freeds, I'm going to build up a preamp, amp or whatever and christen it "the Ridgewood." :grin: But the only Freeds I own right now are one or two small 600:600 repeat coils.
