Hey guys
My name is Gabriel from Chile, South América and I'm on my second 1176 build.
I've read every post on the subject of low gain and nothing relates to the problem I'm having (I think)
From the IC input (my version) I get super good signal to the preamp input, but once it gets to the 2N5457 transistor the voltage and signal decreases a lot.
I don't know if the problem IS the fet or the problem comes from the GR section. I've changed the fet to check if it's ok and nothing, check resistors and cap polarities and nothing.
The VU barely moves because of the low input gain and it does compress but almost nothing. Switches and wiring ok.
Power supply perfect.

If you have any lights to his I would greatly appreciate it.

Gabriel

Done that, better signal. Put it back and the same issue, even with a replacement BF245A (reversed)

When you pull it out, do you get the right gain? (45 dB from memory). If you do, then your problem is with the fet, or the gain control voltage.
