wondering if anyone has a schematic or any experience building / designing an HPF that could be built into an XLR connecter, ideally something that is at least 12db or 18db / octave
There are both Shure and E-V products like that, though passive, the E-V at least is a sharp inductor filter. I think I documented it somewhere here. Spec sheet can be found online.
