These are 21 series omni capsules for the classic M11 system "coke bottle" tube mic.  The one on the right is a BR-180, rated for 170dB SPL!!!

That's crazy!  Kick drum, pfft.  Try jet engine! ha

Yup.  NASA used them for recording rocket launches.  I have some NOS RCA 6136 which are a low-microphonics version of the 6AU6, should work nicely in high SPL situations.
