I got this tube 6J1 preamp from a friend with some NOS Philipps EF95 tubes. I hocked it up and it sounds surprisingly good, especially when you drive it hot and it starts to distort/saturate.
So I was thinking of building a distortion/saturation box with it. I tried to use some old unknown GDR transformers (~1:1 Ratio) at the output to get even more distortion. It worked but I had a strong bass roll off.
I guess the impedance wasn't right. (I quick research told two impedances for this amp 3k and 10k)
What In/Out transformers would work for this amplifier? 10k/600?
