Hi everyone, I know this is a basic question but I can't get my head around what this small snippet of switch schematic means. The part hasn't arrived or I'd just use my multitester.

When it shows in the second pic 1 and 4 contacts, what is that line from 4 doing? It's not connected to 1, right? Why is there that diagonal line from 4?

Thx

Mains voltage (line cord) is connected to pins 1 and 4. In 115V mode the primary windings 1-3 and 2-4 are in parallel. For 230V mode the primaries 1-3 and 2-4 are in series. All the windings are actually 115V so for 230V operation they are used in series.
