Here a (way too?) young Flemish music and 'old stuff' freak!
Started a couple of years ago with a valve radio and a Sony TC630 tape recorder.
Now I am very interested in old Belgian audio brands (Carad, Artec, Frank,... all quite rare, many of them even in their country of origin), and analogue studio recording, and I really want to build my equipment myself because of budget constraints (so I am usually looking for 'poor man's solutions'), but also because it is so interesting!
The most 'old studio'-ish pieces of equipment I have are a Revox D36 and a Carad R53 tape recorder, both all-valve.
I would like to build (a version of) those great Telefunken/Siemens/EMT preamplifiers (like the V72 or a transistorized version), maybe a vari-mu compressor or two,... Sadly, the transformers are ridiculously expensive, so I may start to make them myself. One day...
Greetings,
Cyriel
