I've been trying to Goggle up a supplier or a replacement for this transistor, but haven't had much luck. Anyone know where I could get one or what a current replacement mfg/part number might be?

It's out of an old Philips GA212 turntable I'm trying to bring back from the dead.

Thanks in advance,

It must be old... that's a germanium PNP power transistor. Its NPN complement was (surprise!) AD161.

Here's one place in Ireland that seems willing to sell small quantities.

One cross reference lists a Japanese replacement. I quote:
2SB16----------(AD162)

But personally, I never trust cross-reference lists. I just use them to help point me in the right direction.

More info that might be helpful:

Thanks, Dave. I found that site in Ireland, but thought there might be something a bit closer to me in the U.S. If all else fails, I'll have to go with them.

Thanks for that other link as well. I've bookmarked it for future reference.

Cheers,
