Hi I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to pose this question (so if I should post elsewhere I apologize).
I adapted a 70's handset as described in the article below:

It works great but I noticed I don't hear myself when speaking into the mic in the receiver (earpiece).

I'm doing this with a Samsung A12 phone. Does the phone not output audio when spoken? Or is it related to using the jack on the phone. It ssems like some audio may come through when I speak into phone by itself.

I found the name for a small amount of feedback that came on on analog phones was/is called "sidetone"
