Aftermarket Tape Counter

The tape counter on my Telefunken M15 is a clunky mechanical type. I’ve seen pictures of aftermarket tape counters but Have never seen one in use.

Does anyone have any information about these devices? Any particular one I should look for?

I do live mastering from tape so I need an accurate counter to make notes and moves.

I had one of my A80VU’s go down the other day. It’s the first problem I’ve had with it in about eight years since they were rebuilt.

I don’t touch anything mechanical but this was an audio problem. I spent about six hours on it and didn’t fix it. I’m not too familiar with the A80.

Time to call in the big guns. Bob Shuster fixed it in less than an hour of course.

While he was here he fixed the M15 tape counter too. I like when things work.
