I have in my bench an AKG 414 XLS that has a low volume and slow transition between patterns. It works fine otherwise, but that is it:
- it has low volume, no variation between the pad choices. it might be stuck in -18 pad, dont know. the lights do change normally.
- when changing patterns the light does change immediately, but the actual change takes a while, 30 seconds at least.
i dont even know where to start. there is no schematic for this model online.

thanks all, have a good day

Update. after a more detailed inspection i've noticed the ground spring contact between circuit and chassis was sort of loose. I reinforced the connection and the mic is acting normally so far. Pad is working fine and volume seems fine. i will update if there is a new change.

New Update. we compared to a fully functional 414 XLS and the mic is still low volume. The patterns are now ok, changing at the same speed as the good one, but the overall volume still around 12dB lower as if it is stuck in this pad position.
