Have you tried alice.co.uk support? If they're not just a fake shell of a company they should be able to provide you with a service manual.

Otherwise, from glancing at the regular manual it looks like it could require an above average level of skill to service. Apparently it uses a lot of analog multiplexers, VCAs and other automation stuff. So if you can't find a schematic you'll need to create test jigs and be a wiz at tracing things with the scope.

But it looks like a cool piece.

You should also write in Ted Fletcher’s forum, he was one of the designers of those Alice consoles. Alice was his company.

I was able to get the schematics for the Alice 828 from him through his forum:

WB/Willem,

I am probably one of the few who still have schematic documentation on the Alice (Stancoil Ltd, Windsor, UK) products from the 1980s, because I was the Swedish dealer for Alice during this time.

It is true that someone pointed out here earlier that it was Ted Fletcher who was the main designer, but Steve Dove was also involved in some constructions.

( Ps! remember that even Ted has received some schematics from me that are missing for him)

You say that your console is called "Air 2000 BC" it is possible that it comes from the time around 1990 or later when Alice was bought by another company, (think it was Soundtech) and after this time I was no longer a dealer for Alice and did not have access to any technical documentation.

The image you show is similar to a console called "ABCM" (a broadcast version of the "ACM") and most of these larger consoles were customized where everyone looked different in their configuration.
So could it possibly be an "ABCM" you have from the mid-1980s ?

EDIT.....
I checked online and found a brochure on Air 2000, this is a later console made by the new Alice company, so unfortunately I do not have this schematic.

Hello Bo, I wish all is good with you.
Thank you so much for your post and info.

I have an Alice 828 MK1 that I need to fix. The schematics for the 828 MK2 are available (IC preamp stage) but unfortunately I can’t find the original schematics for the 828 MK1 (discreet preamp). I already asked Ted Fletcher and he doesn’t have the original docs.

is there any chance you might have the 828 MK1 documentation?

thank you so much

Hi Whoops,

Sure, I'll fix this for you next time I'm in my workshop.
Do you have an email address ?
there are several pages, maybe better with email than to attach here

Ps! I no longer receive an email notification when someone replies to my new post or an older thread, is there any change regarding this here on the forum?
