Hi,

I just got this Altec 436B in. It didn't come with with a connection diagram. But I'm not too sure how to hook it up...Can anyone assist me on this one?

On a side note: the unit itself is not grounded (I suppose that's how they came)

OUTPUT: HI LO and GND...Seems pretty easy...except for the hardwire connection between LO and GROUND...Should I connect all three wires to the terminals. Do I leave the bridge between LO-GND intact, or should I remove it?

OUTPUT: There are 5 terminals, labeled 1,2,3,4,GND. There's a resistor (hardwired on the outside) between terminals 1 and 4. How's this one supposed to be wired? Which one is + and which is -?? (I can send a pic if you want)

All The Best,

Redsandblu

a quick note
I may be able to help you here.
I have one of these (one of my only working compressors)
I have the schemo's for this unit and I can get some info on the terminal connections to XLR.
let me know what is most helpful to you.
I can offer both if you like

correction:
i have the altec 438a manual/schematis in .pdf
which is basically the same unit with an addaed preamp utilizing a 12ay7 tube...i think everything after T2 is the same.
the connections should be the same.
let me see how big it is and i'll try to post it for your D/L'ing pleasure
