Altec 436C...is it any good?

...compared to for instance an LA2A? i have a chance to buy one but is it any good? Could you share your experience with it

Some of them have transformers with really good iron, some of them with very bad iron (not better than is needed for telephone conversations). Go figure...

HOW MUCH?! Use the search function for 436's. LOTS of discussion. It's one of our DIY builds here. We even got Sowter to make iron.
