Amek 10A PSU - Need help :)

Hi Guys
I have problems with the +18 and -18 of an Amek PSU
it's a 10A made of a LM338K and a MJ 2955
I get something above 30V not regulated !
how is that possible ? what have I f...ed up ?

If it is a stock PSU then you should check the rectifiers, regulators and caps.  If you have messed with it already then tell us what you have done!

I lost regulation on a rail of my angela PSU early this year.
Similar problem to yours. It's probably the 338k.  Thats
what fixed mine.

An MJ2955 with a collector-emitter short will give you exactly this symptom.
