Ampex ATR 100/102 VU meter LAMPs HOW to get in there???

How the heck are you supposed to get the vu meters out? Do they slide out the front??? It seems like fort KNOX!!!

Theres an allen screw in a hole, on the right hand side of the module from memory, undo that and the i/o module slides out.

There should be a hole very near the right edge of the I/O module, maybe half way up the side.  You stick an Allen wrench (sorry, can't say what size) into the hole to engage and loosen the hidden Allen screw.  Then you can extract the module from the frame.  Be sure to have the power to the machine off.
