I made another one. Took some inspiration from here.
My camera is as bad as before, but my photoshop skills are grown.

[quote author="nrgrecording"]Cool! :thumb:
but... who needs more than one SSL in a studio? :green:
Are you ssl infected, too?

In my opinion, SSL is totally overrated. :green:

Verrrry nice. Respect!

How did you do the front pannel? Is it custom ordered or did you do it yourself?

Nice Michael :thumb:
I was thinking about 2U rack because I have one nice (read too, big) 1mA VU. He have a led for peak indicator.

I have no space in my room and however I will make 1U SSL (if I ever find small VU )

Someone suggested in another thread to have a switch with different values for the cap right after pin 7 of the TL074. It's very easy and works fine.
Low cut in side chain is great if you compress non-house-music and don't need a pumping compressor.

great !!! very nice and clean design...

what's that for a meter..??

I use the same switches for byp and power at my 5 ! :) new SSL's ,
just one size bigger...
Is your bypass switch only lighting when the unit is in bypass mode ??

When I look at the picture... I think you have to turn the power and bypass switch for 90° ??

hey Michael,

that look brilliant.

Would you happen to have the schematic for the selectable frequency high pass filter you put in the sidechain.

again great work!

Congratulations, your GSSL looks really, really nice! It would be indeed very nice if you could explain your way of doing the sidechain high pass! What component values are needed for which cutoff frequencies? There is a design floating around here which involves a(nother) opamp, but I'd rather go without...

cheers, Mart

Great, thanks Matthias! Looking at the schematic, there is an opamp at the output of the sidechain vca and after that a 22u/35V electrolytic cap - is that the one?

Is there a chance you post the values you used for the frequencies on your box, or give me a hint on how to do the calcutations? I do have some basic knowledge on four pole filters -

Is that what I am seeing here? If so, what is the resistance to ground?

Big thanks, Mart
