I'm trying to help a friend here with some issues on an old electrodyne console that seems to consist mainly of 710-L modules with a couple of 709 and 712 modules as well. I've been looking around for some schem's but they seem to be pretty rare, so I was hoping one of you fine fellows might know of a good source for these. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Zach

add me to that list if you findd any, have been searching for a very long time for any electrodyne documentation...

Ken definitely has a buttload of Electrodyne schemo's. He's a friend of mine, I'll ask him to check in on this thread.

I'll ask him to check in on this thread.

Jeff, that would be great. Many thanks. And if I find another source I'll definitely let you guys know.

I have racked quite a lot of 710 and 712 modules. I can certainly help with getting them powered and I/O'd I had to deal without schematics myself. I once picked up about 15 710 channels strips of which 7 werent passing signal or were distorted. Without exception I fixed every single one by cleaning and tweaking the faders. They are the first place I would look when you run into trouble. They get especially unreliable at the top of their throw.

If you have 712s you want to get rid of, Ill take them off your hands anytime!!! My fave EQ.

Thanks for the tip about the faders. These are actually in a console, so I won't be racking them up. But apparently a number of them are suffering from low signal level. I haven't actually gone over to start troubleshooting yet, but I just like to be prepared. Since I have never dealt with these before I would like to have schematics handy. I hate tracing stuff out myself, feels like driving across the country without a map.

I have a few line amps that had cetec logo on them and electrodyne trafos. They did not pass signal. I changed the output caps. Voila!

OK Electrodyne experts.
What did I just buy?

Any help with schematics would be great!

Howdy-- new to this board, seems like a great source of info.

So, I too just bought one of these, and I'm wondering what I'll need.

Can anyone tell me:

1) What power supply is appropriate?

2) I'm thinking the output tranny is coupled to the card right? So can anyone recomend an input transformer for this module?

If I can answer any of this through other channels I'll come back to share what I find out.

Thanks--

Liam

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but that is an routing module, there aren't any pre's or amps in there. There's a meter and meter buffer amp on it and some high quality parts
Edynes are all +24v single sided supply.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll see what my options are.

Question, when the seller says that the module contains a:

DISCRETE TRANSFORMER COUPLED AMP CARD

Is that accurate?

I have the block diagrams and hook up sheets from electrodyne for the 300 to 700 series mic pre & EQ and EQ modules. Also have a hand drawn circuit of the electrodyne opamp design which is identical to the Quad 8 except they run on one 24v rail instead of +/-28v. So opamp input has half power rail voltage applied. Also Eq section is very close to Quad 8.
There is about 50 pages so if you want a block diagram and hook up sheet email me with the module type number and I will send a PDF copy of the pages you need.

I wish I had done a search here before buying this.
Adrianh, what did you end up doing with yours? This is the same thing, right? I emailed the guy to ask him what it was before I bid, but he said he packed it up 25 years ago and didn't know.
