are you ok with the analog meters?

i can get surplus led meters for about 15 a pop,

thats the item that jacks up the price into never never land,

those darn digi redouts, get 4 of those and you pay 500 bucks.

and that might just be a back lit lcd,
 
Dunno about the US, but in France I can get 2000pts meter for €6.5 (LCD) or €10 (LED)

I think analog meter would be a better choice anyways... Unless you add auto-ranging, a digi meter will show only '-24,5' for instance.
Given that the last digit is seldom trustable on those cheapies, that's not a lot of precision...

I also like analog when slowly powering up something. Watching out for the current meter rising too fast allows for switching off before it's too late...
